In her opening remarks,校工 Dr Yang Yang, Master of Wellington College Education (China) - Tianjin, shared heartfelt reflections and vivid stories about her journey with Wellington. She emphasised that Wellington is not just a school, but a “happy place” – where children discover joy in learning, and where smiles and inclusivity flourish on campus.
“Every child is a star,”Dr Yang said. “They have both the right and the ability to shine in their own unique way. Our role is to help them find their place, so that they can truly sparkle.” Speaking about the qualities needed for future talent, she highlighted the importance of technical skills, foresight, empathy, sensitivity, and intuition. She also reminded parents that 70% of a child’s growth takes place beyond the classroom, and that a love for life and balance are essential for sustaining vitality.
Dr Yang described Wellington as a “warm and nurturing community of growth”, where safety, love, and trust form the core bonds between families and the school.
